From her Rose Cottage studio in Santa Barbara, Carol creates her oils and watercolors, using her own photos as reference. Her photos from her travels are her jumping off point for her uplifting compositions.
Carol started out life within earshot of the San Francisco fog horns. After being trained as a classical musician on the organ, clarinet, and piano at the University of Pacific and U.C. Davis, she moved to Santa Barbara to raise a family near the sea.
Here she started studying art with Marilyn Simandle, Jim Armstrong and Ted Goerschner to whom she owes a life long debt of gratitude for their generosity. Her Works have been collected by Cottage Hospital and many businesses in Santa Barbara. She has shown at many local shows and several galleries currently at Gallery Los Olivos in Los Olivos and Katherine Designs in Montecito. Carol is a member of the Santa Barbara Art Association and Scape. She taught in the Goleta Creative arts program and Hope district for fifteen years.
Carol's hope is to reflect all that is uplifting in her work. She believes that all of the arts should lift the spirit. You can see in her work how she reflects her music background by way of repeated rhythm of line color and tone and a few hidden treble clefs.
